Thanks Dave. That's a great idea! I think i'll try that so that at least every other night there is just one less thing to think about doing.

I am pretty exasperated often trying to work and all else (soccer, library, daycare, etc. ). I recently started cooking 2 dinners at a time. I found there's often enough time while prepping dinner to put on another dish. So, every other night or so, dinner prep's just a warm up. Been nice and not too much extra effort.

After a long day of being a home day care provider and giving all my energy to other people's children, i still try and save that bit for mine who are the world to me. my children are number one to me. you are right , it is all about mindset and the quality of time with our children.

yeah, i think its having the proper mindset. before i become a full pledged mother, i was juggling work with a demanding boss and of course being a newbie mom. i told myself i am a mom first and employee second. So I do work for eight hours straight so that we the clock reach 5, i will be heading home. And on my way home, i will concentrate on leaving the stress in the office and think of my beautiful daughter. After that i am energized already that when i come home no matter how many things to be done i still have the patience for my daughter.

Balancing between work and home (or kids) is really a matter of the heart.

Many mommies find it difficult is because, their mindset is 'I want to rest right after work'. But do they see their bed when they reach home? No! They see their kids. Then they become frustrated and feel that its the kids who are causing the frustration.

For me, after work will be kids and definitely them only. So when the mindset is right, the emotions will be in the correct channel and that's when the balance is strike.

Many mistook balance as the amount of time spent at work and with kids must be equal. No. Its not the amount of time your kids need your body to be there with them. Its HOW you spend the time with them that matters.
